Programme - new sessions
We have added even more sessions to the programme!

On Saturday 29 August (14.00-14.45) there will be, for the first time, a special patients’ session, to discuss patient-related issues. The theme of this session will be the family carer. Details of the session programme can be found online.

Details on the regulatory update session on 'Strategies for treatment resistant depression and partial response' (Monday 31 August, 19.00-21.15) are published online as well.

Last but not least, the 18 presenters of the Rapid-fire poster sessions have been selected. Come and watch them explaining their work -in only five minutes- on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (12.15-12.45).

Frans de Waal

Keynote session

The 28th ECNP Congress will be officially opened with a Keynote session on Saturday 29 August, 18.45-20.00.

This session hosts a special Keynote lecture from Frans B.M. de Waal on 'Prosocial primates: cooperation and empathy'.

Frans B.M. de Waal is a Dutch/American biologist and primatologist known for his work on the behaviour and social intelligence of primates. His scientific work has been published in hundreds of technical articles in journals. His popular books - translated into many languages - have made him one of the world's most visible and eminent primatologists.

Following the Keynote session, there is a welcome reception, where a buffet dinner will be served.

ECNP Media Award

Mary Baker wins 2015 ECNP Media Award

The winner 2015 ECNP Media Award has been announced: Mary G. Baker, past-president of the European Brain Council.

As well as her long years work for the EBC, Mary has been an indefatigable campaigner for brain health awareness and patient welfare at both the UK and European level.

“She is one of the field’s great communicators,” said ECNP President Guy Goodwin, “with a unique ability to bring alive the link between research in the lab and the experience of patients struggling with disorders of the brain. She’s an excellent recipient of this award.”

The award will be conferred at the patients’ session on Saturday 29 August, 14.00-14.45.

ISCTM

ISCTM Autumn meeting

This year, ISCTM will be holding its ‘Autumn’ meeting in Europe: on 27-29 August in Amsterdam, immediately preceding the 28th ECNP Congress.

The opportunity to extend the scope of ISCTM’s activities and deliver on its mission to promote a truly international response to the challenges of therapeutic innovation in the CNS arena is a very important one.

By holding the meeting jointly with the ECNP Congress, ISCTM has been able to link the premier forum for issues confronting drug development to Europe’s largest meeting for the science and treatment of disorders of the brain. For all those interested in this critical area, it’s a very exciting combination.
